Foster Carer Feedback

A big THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to you and to everyone at Nurture that I have been so fortunate to work with. 

To this day I am ever so grateful for your patience that helped me to complete the assessment process and become one of your foster carers. How am I now so glad to have received the guidance and support from all my 3 SSW's together with Charlotte, Selina, Helen, Elleisha, Adam, and Christian at Nurture Fostering. 

I must thank all the ever so readily available and approachable staff at Nurture for the experience and the confidence to look after younger children that I have gained to date.

I recently took some time to reflect on my journey so far with Nurture. I know that it is still early days but I realised that I have not come this far on my own. I have not forgotten the day you come to my home and the things we spoke about. 

The first few weeks were not east but it became lighter as the days and weeks went by. I cannot say there are no challenges but you and my SSW have been there for me, making sure that we climb each level together. I have learnt so much in these few weeks from my SSW to a point where my confidence level keeps increasing. For this I am grateful and I can only say thank you to everyone.

Just want to say a big THANK YOU for spending all that time to help me with Ns dermatologist appointment tomorrow as well as her emergency clothing allowance, school application ect.. 

I also remember what Charlotte said in our first meeting that Nurture focus on assisting Foster Carers to do their jobs. I like that statement very much because we foster carers really need that kind of support.  And so far that is exactly what I have experienced vicariously through your supervision. Please extend my thank to Charlotte as I have not been able to thank her in person. 

I am aware that it’s still early days but if this is how Nurture operates I certainly am looking forward to a long service with Nurture.

Overall the whole training contents was very useful, especially to do with establishing effective communication with children in placement as this helps the children share any issues they face. This will help carers to be able to reflect their caring style like providing relevant advice, assistance and protection.
