The London Borough of Islington provided feedback on one of our foster carers through one of their foster child's pathway plans.
You have a strong relationship with the foster carer as you call her 'aunt', you communicate well with and have a lot of respect for her.
You have experienced a succession of foster carers before you were placed with your current foster carer. She immediately reassured you and has since provided a loving, flexible but firm approach to your care. You have expressed how you feel respected and safe with her in contrast to negative feelings you had about previous foster carers.
Your foster carer is a strong advocate for you by highlighting your strengths and reminding you of how far you have come and how much potential you have. She is organised and transparent and takes a keen interest in your welfare and interests including your education (for example by helping you with your homework), your health (by taking you to medical appointments) and football by taking you to training and matches. The home you live in is also always clean, tidy, warm and welcoming. There is a large kitchen and living area which is tidy and organised. The foster carer prepares meals during the weekdays when you are at school and you make food on the weekends. You have a large room - which you keep this clean and organised - and are proud of it as it is decorated with a big flag of your home country. You also help clean the communal bathroom.
You are also generally happy and respected in the foster carers care. You are treated no different to her birth children and she genuinely carers about you.
