L did amazingly under M’s care and has now moved on to her long term foster match with Nurture. It is such a credit to M that L has been to literally hundreds of medical appointments and attended every single one with M by her side. Given the neglect L had faced in her childhood, and how difficult this made the first few months with M, it is transformational for her to have had the dedicated love and care from M during a time when she was at her most vulnerable.
M is one of the single most dedicated, committed and tenacious carers I have met. There were times when L would be really putting a lot of strain on the placement given her previous experiences and this was without considering the stamina and endurance needed to ensure she was where she needed to be (and at the right hospital!). M took it all in her stride. Medication, appointments, hospitals and the various consultants and their procedures, the LAC processes and L’s therapeutic providers. M received lots of positive feedback from the multiple medical professionals she worked alongside for L too, such as one hospital ward commenting that M and L had become ‘part of the family’ during their stay at the hospital. She’s made a huge difference to how L sees her world and her place in it, she’s a huge credit to Nurture
