Did the foster carer make the child feel welcome?
The foster child had experienced a succession of foster carers before he was placed with K. She immediately reassured him and has thus provided a loving, flexible but firm approach. He expressed how he feels respected and safe in her care in contrast to his negative feelings about previous foster carers. The foster carer is a strong advocate for him by highlighting his strengths and reminding him of how far he has come and how much potential he has.
How was your experience of the interaction with the foster carer?
The foster carer is always polite, knowledgeable, and advocates for the foster child. She is organised and transparent and takes a keen interest in the welfare and interests of the foster child. The carer attended the foster child's PEP meeting and participated very helpfully. She is a lovely woman who prioritises the needs of the children in her care. She is a pleasure to work with!
Please provide examples on any areas requiring improvement:
I do not have any comments. She is an excellent foster carer who advocates strongly for the young people in her care and wants the best for them. She is not afraid to share her views about what she feels is in the best interest of the young people she cares for.
If a situation arose again would you use this foster carer again?
Yes the foster carer is a pleasure to work with. She is very organised, carers deeply about the young people in her care, and advocates strongly on their behalf. She is good at setting boundaries, being clear and transparent about the risks young people face whilst allowing them to explore and return home to a safe and stable environment.
