- Your observation of the carer’s relationship with the child or young person.
J is very warm and loving person and very committed to R. This is a very nurturing placement and J responds to R’s complex needs with patience and love which in turn makes him reassured and settled.
- What is your impression of the carer’s contribution to the care plan(s).
J is reflective and takes advice on board. He contributes to the Care Plan and shares his thoughts and ideas and seeks advice appropriately.
- Can you say how the carer/s is meeting the child or young person’s diverse needs, e.g.
racial, identity, religion, language and culture?
J comes from a similar background to R and has been fulfilling R’s needs in this respect very well. He has also formed a really good professional relationship with his family/aunt which helps with developing Rs’ identity and meeting his needs further.
- How is the carer/s promoting the child or young person’s individual education, health, social and leisure needs, and where appropriate self-care and independent skills?
J is very much involved, he engages with professionals to get the advice. J encourages R to take part in activities and joins him regularly to play football as this is what R enjoys. J has been appropriately developing R’s independence skills in line with his age and abilities .
- Are you satisfied that the physical and material needs of the child or young person are being
adequately met?
J is very organised and resourceful person and he meets R’s needs very well.
- Any other comments
J is thoughtful, loving , caring and emotionally attuned person and R has been happy and settled in his care.. I hope this continues to go from strength to strength.
