Did the foster carer make the child feel welcome?  Please can you provide some examples of the foster carer’s work that you have observed.

The Foster Carer was very welcoming and supportive of the foster child. He was happy in his placement and would have stayed if he could have. The foster child has kept in contact with the foster carer which speaks volumes of their relationship. The foster carer stopped eating pork in her own home to meet the child's needs and to help make him feel more comfortable. He is a practising Muslims. The foster carer brought him a new air fryer, because her air fryer at the time had been used to cook pork dishes.

Was the home always clean and warm? Yes, the house was always clean and warm. the home felt very homely and each young persons needs were taken into account.

Please provide examples on any areas requiring improvement:

There are no areas of improvement, The Foster carer & SSW  were fantastic and we all worked well together to support him. The foster child couldn’t have asked for a better carer and he has been very appreciate of the support of her.

If a situation arose again would you use this foster carer again? Yes

Please comment on the foster carer’s strengths.

She has good understanding around the needs of asylum seekers young person.

She has the ability to put the young person first to meet their needs and care plan, alongside using her knowledge to advocate positively for him.

The foster carer was a strong supporter of making sure he has contact with his maternal uncle, which includes her dropping or picking him up from his uncle house.
