I note that the Foster Carer is well supported by the agency and I think the consistency as you are their supervising social worker has been a real blessing, The Foster Child is offered activities and a relationship with SSW which again is important given she is out of our area, all in all the service has been a good one. In respect of the Foster Carer I have written the following;.
She is a warm and welcoming carer, she helped the foster Child settle in when she arrived and has been calm, warm and nurturing presence for her ever since. The Foster Carer pays attention to culture and ethnicity in a way that allows the child to consider her similarities and differences.
The love and care in this home is palpable, the Foster carer radiates this and it’s felt.
The home is clean and tidy.
I have great admiration for the Foster Carer, she is calm and thoughtful but she is also direct, I like her honesty , her patience , her ability to listen and then advocate for the foster child. Foster carer is wise, she knows herself and she knows the foster child, she is super respectful but also has no problem with challenging a view or practice she doesn’t agree with, I like that about her, the Carer is trauma informed, she offers the safety and security that Children need to heal from multiple traumatic life events and circumstances that would challenge anyone.
The Foster carer is wise, she is empathetic and kind, she is calm, she is authentic, she is confident to challenge and she always advocates for the child. I have appreciated Rhoda’s insights and thoughts about the child's functioning, her ethnicity and her identity. She is very open to conversations, very thoughtful. She has a strong bond with the foster child, she offers her loving guidance and appreciates her for who she is.
